The Empowerment in Action Awards were launched in August 2025 as a bold step in celebrating women whose daily acts of service are shaping the next generation. These awards honour the mothers, mentors, teachers and community builders whose quiet faithfulness is transforming girls and young women across Cape Town.

About the Awards
Why These Awards Matter
The Empowerment in Action Awards are part of Sister K Foundation’s mission to inspire, equip and uplift women and girls. When women mentor, nurture and empower others, entire generations are strengthened. These awards honour that work and ignite a movement that continues to grow from one city, to one province, to a nation and beyond.
Our Vision
The Awards exist to celebrate and honour extraordinary women who, through consistent acts of service, mentorship and leadership, are shaping, empowering and preparing girls for purposeful living and meaningful impact. These women often work behind the scenes, yet their contribution creates generational change. The Awards began as a local celebration, but the vision is to see this movement spread across South Africa and eventually to a global stage.

Timeline
The Journey of the Empowerment in Action Awards
2025: The Beginning of a Movement
The first Empowerment in Action Awards took place in Cape Town and marked a significant moment of recognition and healing for women whose work is often invisible. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude, reflection and celebration. Nominees shared stories of mentorship, community upliftment and courage. Guests testified that the event felt sacred, as if the collective sacrifices of women were finally acknowledged. Three outstanding women received the Purpose Builder Award, the Guiding Light Award and the Community Heart Award. They left inspired to continue serving, reminded that their labour is seen by God and valued by their communities.
2026 Theme: Legacy in Action

This theme celebrates women who build legacy through faithful service, intentional mentorship and generational influence.
