Inspiring and Empowering women and girls to succeed
in every area of their lives.

About Us

Driven by her passion to unify and empower her sisters, Sister K started annual weekend sessions with her sisters and cousins in 2013. The impact of these sessions demonstrated a need to expand and gave birth to the Sister K Foundation Non-Profit Company (NPC) which was registered in 2020. The foundation is a sisterhood that aims to assist women in realizing their true worth by inspiring and empowering them to maximize their potential and fulfil their purpose.

Current Initiatives

Femtors and Femtees campaign

Connecting female mentors with female mentees

In a world where girls face challenges such as teenage pregnancy, dropping out of school, declining academic performance, poor self-image, and mental health issues, mentorship is imperative. We believe and have witnessed that with the right support and guidance, girls can overcome these challenges and become great leaders with multigenerational influence.

We provide a platform where girls are mentored and get training in essential life skills. Through our Femtors and Femtees campaign, we partner with femtors who pay it forward by volunteering their time to share their knowledge and experience to empower femtees. We also provide the femtors with training that empowers them to become effective in the support they give their femtees. Femtors are also encouraged to create sisterhoods in their own families, communities and areas of influence where women and girls can share their knowledge and experiences, inspire and support each other to pursue their dreams, and achieve their goals.

Empowerment sessions

Raising the status of women and girls through education, awareness, and training

We host various sessions for women and girls in different contexts. These include training, sessions with femtees, conferences & camps, workshops & webinars, and short courses. Whatever the session, whatever the length, whatever the format, our aim is always to leave the participants inspired and equipped to maximise their potential, and ultimately fulfill their purpose.

Fertility challenges awareness campaign

Restoring women’s self-worth irrespective of fertility conditions

Fertility challenges and loss of pregnancy remain a taboo and this makes it very difficult for couples to heal as they mostly do not have safe spaces where they can openly talk about the grief and pain as they would normally do with other losses. For women particularly, their self-worth is also challenged. We believe through creating a safe space to openly talk and share experiences, women can begin to heal and move towards regaining self-worth and overcome the temptation to devalue themselves because of fertility challenges. We partner with various organisations and add our voice to these important conversations.

Karing hands - Providing for the basic needs of women and children

New–born baby campaign

Bringing a new life into this world and taking a newborn baby home should be a joyous occasion for every mother. Unfortunately for some mothers, this is not the case, as they’re faced with plenty of uncertainties. What should be the joy of motherhood can become a woe for mothers, especially teens who do not have the financial means to cater to their newborns. Some of these young mothers have been abandoned by their families, including the father of their babies, who leave them to fend for themselves.

Through our campaign, we seek to restore mothers’ joy and give them hope for their child’s future and restore the joy of taking their newborns home. We provide the mothers with pamper packs and baby essentials such as clothes, bottles, toiletries, and nappies.

Immediate basic needs drive

When it comes to assisting the girls and women in our communities, we don’t ignore their immediate needs for food, hygiene, pads, stationery, clothing etc. We demonstrate love and sisterhood not only through our empowerment sessions but also through our Karing hands programs where through the generous donations of our partners and supporters, we are able to provide towards meeting these needs.
